Minutes from Downtown Association Meeting held Jan 10/ 2008
- In attendance: Mayor Vern Little, Dr. Fred, Karen Alessi, Kathleen Friend, Molly Hendrickson, Becky Schnurstein, Jennie Fenrich, Cory Perry, Jan Berg, Diana Jackson.
- Vern Little reviewed some of the hot topics for the city of Lake Stevens including growth and downtown signs, the redevelopment has been postponed again for downtown, the city is working on a proposal of property between Hwy 9 and Hwy 2 for commercial development.
- The city received money from the state for the Civic center move, they are still in talks regarding the property.
- There is a new logo for the signs in Lake Stevens, they added a sun to the sailboat picture.
- There is a emphasis on adding sidewalks around the schools for safety, we added the need to access the bike trail from downtown too.
- Safeway is adding a gas station in Frontier Village.
- We reviewed the farmer market for the summer, maybe extending music in the park.
